On 3rd of December at 17:00 the Christmas tree which is 30m long will be inaugurated at the St. Peter’s square.

The tree’s decoration is made by the residents of psychiatric rehabilitation centre in a small village in rosello which is located in Abruzzo region of Italy. 

The wooden crib?

Yes, the Vatican will also be inaugurating a wooden crib presented by Sutrio which is located in Udine region. The crib is all made of cedar wood which is produced from sustainable forest. These wooden structure are completely handmade which shows the sculpturing skills. All the news is based on the Vatican News

Who will inaugurate the Vatican Christmas tree 2022?

The Holy family of the Vatican City with Pope Francesco and the all the people involved in presenting the gifts to the Vatican will be there.

This tradition was started by Pope John Paul in 1982 and the tradition still continues hitting 40 years in count.

Hours for st. Peter’s Basilica?

The hours to st. peter’s basilica during Christmas season is as same as normal days, but the mass for the Christmas Eve starts in the evening (the time hasn’t declared yet)

Tickets to St Peter’s Basilica

The entry to the St. Peter’s Basilica is free if we make the queue. But, however we have the skip the line tickets to purchase and spend worthwhile inside.

How long the tree is at the square?

The Christmas tree and the crib setup will be at the St. Peter’s basilica until 8th of January 2023.
